Friends of Greenleas (FOG)
INTRODUCTION TO FOG - WHERE ALL SHALL BECOME CLEAR...
Friends of Greenleas - or FOG as it's affectionately know- is the school association that supports Greenleas Primary. As a parent/carer/family member of a child within the school you are automatically a member of FOG. How much involvement you want is entirely up to you. We all lead busy lives and FOG really does thrive on having as many people involved as possible to help 'Team FOG' build on our success which in turn benefits all our children. So whatever contribution you can make to FOG, no matter how small you think it is, it all helps as we rely solely on the support of parents.
WHAT DO FOG DO?
We normally meet about twice a term, our meetings are relaxed and informal. We discuss possible future events and liaise with senior members of staff on how to spend the money we have raised. ALL money raised goes directly back to the children. We have funded trips, interactive white boards, laptops, books, theatre group visits and PE equipment - to name just a few.
Last year FOG raised over £10,000 and hope to do the same, if not more this year. On the FOG section of the website you'll find pictures of our events and forthcoming dates. So keep an eye out on what's coming up. This year the focus is all about 'family fun'.
WHY COME TO A FOG MEETING?
Feel involved in your childs schooling
Have a say in things we spend money on
Feel part of a community
Make new friends!
We always need new helpers and ideas or maybe you work for a company that could supply raffle prizes. So, why not pop along to a meeting or if you would like to be more involved but don't have the time to come along, why not be a virtual member? We will include you on all communication. Email the school office and you will be added to the email group.
